Marilyn Minter

Minter has been subject to criticism for many years because of her use of erotic and sexual images in her photography and paintings. She uses conventional dark room processes and does not crop or digitally enhance any of her images.
Her paintings are made by combining negatives in photoshop to create a whole new image. The new image is then made into paintings using layering with enamel paint over aluminum. The final layer of the painting is applied with fingers to soften the brush strokes

This image below is my favourite from her collection because of the texture and the small details.
These images are very sensual and is a classic example of her erotic style.
She chooses to work in this way because she believes the body is a symbol of yearning and desire. In the following images she uses the tongue like a brush to create the photographs using different 'paint' from candy to snow.
The images are taken from the underside of glass.
